// overview
SpeedDialX replaces Chrome's new tab page with a clean speed dial grid. Your most-used sites are one click away — no need to remember URLs or dig through bookmarks. Add any site by entering its name and URL; the favicon is fetched automatically via Google's favicon service. Rearrange dials by dragging and dropping. The search bar at the top searches Google by default — type and press Enter to search, or enter a URL directly to navigate. Background colors and gradients are customizable from a preset palette. Free tier includes 12 speed dials. Pro ($2.99/mo) unlocks unlimited dials and custom image backgrounds.

// faq
Will it replace my existing new tab page?
Yes. SpeedDialX uses chrome_url_overrides to replace Chrome's new tab page. You can remove the extension at any time to restore the default.
How many sites can I add for free?
The free tier allows 12 speed dials. Upgrading to Pro ($2.99/month) removes the limit entirely.
What does Pro include?
Pro includes unlimited speed dials and custom image backgrounds (enter any image URL as your new tab background). All other features are free.
How is the search bar configured?
By default the search bar queries Google. Type a search query and press Enter, or enter a full URL (with or without https://) to navigate directly.
Are my sites saved locally?
Yes. All dial data and background settings are stored in chrome.storage.local — no servers, no sync, no account.
