// overview

SearchHistory turns Chrome's hidden search history into a useful tool. It reads your browser history, extracts the search queries you typed on Google, Yahoo!, Bing, and DuckDuckGo, and displays them in a clean popup with relative timestamps. Search within your history to find a past query instantly, bookmark frequent searches with one click, and re-run any search directly from the popup. Pro users get unlimited history depth and CSV export.

// faq

What search engines does SearchHistory support?

SearchHistory supports Google, Yahoo!, Bing, and DuckDuckGo. It extracts the query parameter from matching URLs in your browser history.

Is SearchHistory free?

Yes. The free plan shows your last 50 unique search queries with full filter and bookmark support. Pro ($2.99/mo) unlocks unlimited history and CSV export.

Does SearchHistory track my searches in real time?

No. SearchHistory reads your existing Chrome browser history on demand when you open the popup. It does not monitor your browsing in the background.

Does SearchHistory send my history to a server?

No. All data stays in your browser. The only external calls are aggregated GA4 analytics events — your search queries are never transmitted.

How is SearchHistory different from Chrome's built-in history?

Chrome's history shows full URLs. SearchHistory extracts and deduplicates just the search queries, lets you filter them instantly, and lets you bookmark and re-run them with a single click.
